The Right Reverend Grant Bradley Walters is the seventh Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Port Elizabeth, beginning his episcopal ministry in 2026.
Bishop Grant brings to the Diocese many years of ministry and leadership within the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. Bishop Grant served within the Diocese of Cape Town and as the Provincial Executive Officer of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa (ACSA). His ministry is grounded in prayer, pastoral care and a deep desire to serve God's people.
As our Bishop, The Right Reverend Grant, together with his wife, Abigail, and daughter, seeks to walk alongside the clergy and laity of the Diocese, encouraging us to remain rooted in Christ, faithful to the Gospel and committed to serving our communities.
His ministry has also included a concern for those who experience life as uncertain and overwhelming. As Bishop-elect, Bishop Grant spoke of the Church's calling to share the hope of Emmanuel — God with us — particularly with those who are vulnerable, lonely, forgotten and struggling.
Our Bishop's prayer for the Diocese is that we may be a Church that brings hope, compassion and the presence of Christ to all those we encounter.
